Project Description

The State Route 11/125/905 Otay Mesa East Port of Entry project facilitates a new border crossing between the US and Mexico, serving the San Diego – Tijuana region, to enhance regional mobility, economic growth and binational trade. The scope includes a 3-mile segment of SR-11, starting east of SR-125 and leading into the new Port of Entry, and the upgrade of the SR-125/SR-11/SR-905 Connector, with new ramps serving northbound and southbound access into the SR-125 Toll road.

Our Role

Sequoia provided comprehensive quality control inspection and testing services to the General Contractor, Skanska USA, for structures and roadway construction. The QC services included work involving 221,800 cy of Aggregate Base, 45,000 cy of JPCP pavement, rebar splicing for structures, and welding of piles and water main.
